Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Fix My DNS Records and our fixing service.

What happens if I don't have SPF and DMARC?
Spammers can easily impersonate your domain. Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo will increasingly mark your legitimate emails as spam. Since 2024, Google and Yahoo require DMARC for bulk senders. Missing these records means lost deliverability, lost trust and potential fraud losses.
Will fixing DNS break my existing email?
Not if done correctly. Our Full Audit starts with a recovery plan and staged rollout (e.g. DMARC pct=20 → 50 → 100) so you catch any false positives before enforcement. Every change is reversible within DNS TTL.
How fast does a DNS fix take effect?
We set low TTLs (typically 65–300 seconds) on all managed zones, so DNS changes propagate in under 5 minutes. Most ISPs honour TTLs within an hour at most.
Do you need access to my DNS?
For Quick Fix and Full Audit, yes — we need registrar login, DNS provider API access, or we can give you the exact records to paste in yourself. Managed plans require ongoing delegated access for automation.
What is DMARC and do I really need it?
DMARC tells receiving mail servers what to do with emails that fail SPF/DKIM. Without it, spoofed email might still be delivered. Google and Yahoo now REQUIRE DMARC for senders of 5,000+ messages per day. Even for small senders, it's the single biggest deliverability upgrade you can make.
Can you fix issues on Cloudflare, Route 53, or GoDaddy?
Yes. We work with all major providers including Cloudflare, AWS Route 53, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, 123-Reg, IONOS, Gandi, and most registrars. For Managed plans we have direct API integration with Cloudflare and Route 53.
How do I know if my emails are going to spam?
Send a test email to a Gmail or Outlook account you control and check the spam folder. You can also use our free DNS scan — a failing DMARC, SPF or DKIM is almost always the cause. Our scan will show you exactly what's broken.
What if I'm not on a Windows server?
DNS records are independent of your server operating system. Whether you're on Linux, Windows, cPanel, Plesk or a cloud host, the same SPF, DKIM and DMARC records apply. We fix DNS at the registrar/DNS provider level, not on the server itself.
